Join us for an intimate Instagram live conversation between trans* poet, curator, and artist Anaïs Duplan and Legacy Russell, Associate Curator, Exhibitions. Duplan is founder of the Center for Afrofuturist Studies, a residency program for artists of color based at Iowa City’s Public Space One and Program Manager at Recess. Russell and Duplan will discuss space-making and future-building as well as his forthcoming book of essays, Blackspace: On the Poetics of an Afrofuture (Black Ocean, 2020). Duplan was a 2017–2019 joint Public Programs fellow for The Studio Museum in Harlem and The Museum of Modern Art.
